Throughout the year, the Cévennes National Parks offers events for adults and children, locals and visitors. This is a rich and diverse programme – walks, exhibitions, workshops, performances, etc. – destined to make you discover or re-discover the National Park’s natural and cultural heritage.
The Festival Nature is a series of free events begun in 1992. Throughout the year, it showcases activities related to the natural and cultural heritage of the Cévennes. The Festival nature encourages contact between locals and visitors, adults and children, and involves local schoolchildren.
The theme of each Festival nature is fixed two years in advance, and alternates between nature and culture. Since its creation, numerous topics have been illuminated: water, the forest, humanity and nature, fauna, tracks and thoughts, heritage, etc.
The Festival nature also includes variations on cultural events of a national or European dimension, such as the French Fête de la nature, Sustainable Development Week, Fête de la science, European Heritage Days, etc.
Participation in these events is free, but reservation is mandatory since places are limited. In case of cancellation (unfavourable weather, technical problems, insufficient numbers, etc.), registered persons are contacted as long as they have given their telephone details. To ensure that the event takes place in optimum conditions, please respect all safety and equipment instructions.
