The Eco-Museums

The Eco-Museums of the Cévennes National Park are a network of museums and heritage trails for each massif (Mont Lozère, Cévenne, Causse and Gorges).

In contrast to other eco-museums, these are not a single site (a museum), but a network of partners.

These established partnerships make it possible to preserve local memory, by developing local heritage in a way that meets the expectations of locals and visitors alike.

Discovering the Park

The distinct geological zones that make up the Cévennes National Park sustain different types of landscape, which have all been shaped by human activity. The Eco-Museums are an invitation to discover the atmosphere of each area by way of indoor or outdoor visits.

The Mont Lozère Eco-Museum

Gîtes, inns, tourist activities, local products: so many things await you in the Mont Lozère area. Its inhabitants want you to fall in love with their realm. The Mont Lozère Eco-Museum and its partners want to share their passion with you and help you make authentic connections and discoveries.

The Cévenne Eco-Museum

Four key words sum up the identity of the Cévennes: schist, chestnut, silk, Protestantism. To help visitors better to understand and explore the region, the Cévenne Eco-Museum has gathered together some ten partners. They all offer their services to help make connections between visitors and inhabitants, between museums and trails, etc.

The Causse and Gorges Eco-Museum

The Causse and Gorges Eco-Museum unites its partners around a shared local history and identity of traditional buildings within strange or sublime landscapes. From museums to walks, exploring to observing, you make your own passage between soil and ever-present sky, on the borders of a unique environment shaped by humanity and the elements.
