Panda gîtes - Ecotourism in the Cévennes - Your stay

The “Panda gîte” label is owned by WWF France and is awarded in the Cévennes to establishments located in high-quality natural areas. They must have been built in the traditional style of architecture and impeccably restored. The Panda gîtes network is a model of sustainable tourism in a rural environment.

Four partner institutions

To award this label, the Cévennes National Park works in association with the Fédération nationale des gîtes de France, WWF France and the Fédération des parcs naturels régionaux de France. Panda gîtes are necessarily gîtes de séjour or chambres d’hôtes located within the Park’s boundaries. They have the « gîtes de France » label with 2 or 3 épis (stars). New buildings are not “eligible”. Gîtes de France brings out a national brochure of Panda gîtes every year.

Committed to nature

The owner, who must live on the premises, commits him or herself to respecting and encouraging the discovery of local fauna, flora and cultural heritage. He or she makes footpaths and observation points available, as well as displaying the documentation contained in the “discovery trunk”. The National Park provides a list of sites of special interest located near the gîte.
