A large and diversified network

The members of Cévennes Ecotourisme provide accommodation (hotels, gîtes, campsites, chambres d’hôtes), run restaurants, guide tours in the uplands and around tourist sites. This professional diversity makes the network more dynamic. Not all of the members are Cévenol, so that the personal experiences they put at the disposal of the association are very varied too. New members benefit from this collective knowledge in the service of ecotourism.

Part 2 of the European Charter for Sustainable Tourism in Protected Areas

Cévennes Ecotourisme is responsible for finding and assisting professionals wishing to commit to sustainable tourism. After an in-depth audit, the association submits the dossiers of the candidate companies to the National Park. The companies commit to carrying out a three-year plan of action, whose content is approved by the Park’s Tourism Commission. Once the Park has given its consent in writing, the professional is officially recognised, meaning that he or she is recommended by the Cévennes national Park.

Advice and training

The association helps professionals progress in different areas of sustainable tourism. Training sessions are regularly organised on a variety of themes: renewable energies, management, sorting rubbish for recycling purposes, etc. It also advocates obtaining diagnoses on insulation, the environment and architecture. Cévennes Ecotourisme also advises other institutions wishing to become involved in sustainable tourism. Finally, it presents its activities to the general public through such events as Printemps de l’écotourisme, conferences, trade fairs, etc.
